Yes there is DSL, for god sakes, it's not like they live in igloos...the weather in the winter gets to be about -35, but with the windchill it is more like -50 at times. In the summer it has generally been pretty dry and it usually gets up to about +30ish. I lived in a small town about an hour west of Saskatoon, but spent a lot of time in the city. If you are going to move there, try and stay out of most of the west side, especially lettertown. Might as well be an urban reserve.

Saskatoon is a great place, but pretty dull at times. But the weather has been pretty good this year.. the coldest was just the other day.. -19, today is -2. And he is correct however, that you should stay the hell away from the west side. Try to get in on the north end. Theft and crime etc is very high on the west. But the east being the "rich" area is very prone to theft.. South part of the city isnt that bad, but the north is deffinately the best. I've used dsl, and cable. Sadly, you do pay a good price for it (the good ones anyways). For concerts, Saskatoon gets all of them, Regina gets none. So there's usualyl something to do. For hockey fans, the Blades (WHL) play every few days, and local arenas always have something going on. Quite a few bars, that arent that bad. Traffic is the fun thing. In RUSH HOUR, it takes me about 15 minutes to get to the other side of the city. The roads are fairly well laid out. Come summer time there's stock car racing (well smash 'em up racing anyways), a BMX/skate park if you like that kind of stuff. Bike rides down the meywasin trail seem to be a good thing.. Even just walking around downtown is something people like to do. The Centennial auditorium usually has something happening too. I believe hey just had an indoor ice-show. If there's anything in specific you like to do, just let me know, and I'll help you out.

Housing is relatively very cheap. But hey, it doesn't have the country's highest violent crime rate per capita for being a high rent city ...

For a single room apartment, I think my father pays about $500 a month, in a very good location. But the first thing you'll want to do, is cancel your liscence plates for your car (if you plan on taking it with) and plating it in Saskatchewan. most cars are 500-800 per year. DSL would be about the same price.. And we may have a lower crime rate, but Saskatoon is the Chlamydia capital of Canada.
