I have been looking at getting into paintball gaming recently and have seen alot of cheap airsoft guns for sale on ebay...

anyone know much about airsoft and the legalities of it in Canada, esp in regards to the guns themselves? it looks pretty interesting, and the guns are alot more realistic than paintball guns, so Im wonderin if they are even legal up here...

thanx for any input...

i had an airsoft gun, and its a ton of fun (i like it better than paintball)...but regardless, if someone could fact check on this it would be cool but i believe any gun that fires under 500 FPS is legal (as it is classified as a BB gun), although i hear getting them over the border is trickey because they are very accurate replica's...

*update* info

They are completely legal in canada as long as the tip of the barrel is panted orange ot has a orange clip attached. They can be transported over the boarder easily as long as that one condition is met.

As far as FPS goes any Firearm weither powder, air or spring power that has a FPS great than 500 needs a F.A.C.

But if you pick up an airsoft gun thats rated at 400 FPS and mod the hell out of it who knows what it will hit!

I have a couple airsoft guns myself and i suggest spending the money and get the green gas blowback guns. The kick they give is almost too real! And opt for the metal slide at least. If not a Full metal gun. It makes then feel more realistic and sturdy.

In medicine hat there realy isn't much of an interest in airsof but in calgary there is tonnes! So if you live in a decent size city you are good to go!

especially since bean bags are police issue only in the states, and Im not a hundred percent sure that they are used in Canada...the 3 RCMP officers I asked said absolutely not...

they arent available to the public in the states or in Canada...and as far as rubber bullets, who knows...the only reason I know much about the bean bags is because I asked about them after watching jackass and seein the dude get shot in the stomach...
