Comcast Cable never complains to me. And man oh man do I use a lot of bandwidth! I host music for a videogame website for people to download. That site get's over 100,000 hits a month and people downloading the music from my Comcast space. Actually I am kind of suprised that they never say anything. lol! I also typically download at about 350-400 k's/sec. I could never go back to dial-up now!

The best the website that I host for can do is tell how many people visit the download page but not exactly how many people download the songs. That page typically get's anywhere from 10,000 to 50,000 hit a month though!
I can only imagine how much has been downloaded from my personal webspace. Even the song in my signature is hosted there. LOL! GO COMCAST!

Thanks for the suggestion, but I've tried everything. I don't just live in the country, I live about 10 Kms away from anything that resembles a town. You know when your driving through the country and suddenly there's a handful of houses kinda near each other and 5 seconds later there's absolutely nothing? That's me.
I live out in the country, and we can get dsl here. The phone company we go through calls it Cheetah Lite Internet. I can usually download at about 250 kb a sec with it, it's pretty decent.
Maybe the phone companies out around your area have something like that?

*SIGH*.....not only am I dial-up...my regular connection is 26.4, 28.8 on a REALLY good day. I get pretty excited when I see 3 kb/s.Telesat is supposed to be offering two way satellite internet for cheaper than the other companies in the spring. I won't hold my breath, though. No cable...no DSL...and I'd have to chop down a giant old maple in my front yard to get line-of-site microwave.

I just recently moved out to Orleans though. Now I have Cable. Rogers Extreme actually </font>
Rogers Extreme is sweet! To bad I fell behind in payments with them now I am with Dial up!, What kinda speeds where you getting I would see the most 600 k/sec...It was soo nice like 200 meg files 5 min download times...Dsl holds no comparison to Cable. </font>
Yeah... that sounds about right. A little over 600k downloads. I love it!

I have dial up, and telus's fast dial up service that compresses pictures, the stats on it read since it was last reset,
Original data 201mb
data transferred 43mb
says its saved me 9hrs and 43 mins based on an average connection speed of 39 Kbps
far cry from the shaw I had in Vic that was 3Mbps down.
Kev.
