Need just some general opinions, and I'm not looking for opinions from people who hate cavaliers or any bashing of them.

I have the opportunity to purchase a 2001 Z24 with the following Specs:

78,000km
Sunroof
Power Locks, Windows, Sunroof
A/C, Cruise, Tilt Steering, Automatic transmission.

1 Previous Owner, 2.4Litre. Includes Safety.

Asking $8,000+ Taxes.

That quote is from my brother in law who is buying it off another dealership for his dealership to sell to me if I am interested in the vehicle. He works for Acura.

The payments work out good for me, as well as the insurance. So far everything is good and I like it from the sounds of it.

What do you guys think ???

Also I was already approved for the loan with no cosigner they just love to give me money lol

why dont you buy a wood coffin, put four wheels on it, and see if it is safer in crash tests than those XYZ body's.

Seriously, doesnt your Bro in law have anything on his lot that you can get? Maybe a trade in?

Those Cavi's and Sunfires are deathtraps.

^^ It's probably 10x safer than the 89 Blazer you drive, based only on technological advancements between 89 and 2001.

I doubt she'll be able to find anything much better for the $8k she'll be spending on this car.

Ter... go for it. You love Cavaliers, and it's got decent options.

Thank you to those who can read and for you ^ don't post next time until you've properly read and understand the main point and outline of the thread.

I WANT a Z24, this is what I want, I dont give a crap about what YOU like and what YOU want. You drive your car I'll drive mine. And once again I'm gonna say this for the last time, DO NOT POST IN THIS THREAD IF YOU'RE JUST GONNA BASH CAVALIERS, IF YOU DON'T LIKE THEM LOOK THE OTHER WAY, I have absolutely no use for useless words from people who hate the vehicle and have nothing nice to say simply because of that.

- Thank you JordyO and Froz3n for your input

No he was generally stating the car is unsafe because he does not like the type of car Joe. It's clear as day.

You can buy something everyone says is pure crap and it turn around and be an amazing thing. And you can buy the same thing one day and have it turn out to be a total piece of crap.

Pinhead don't start in this thread.

Well, it IS a public message board... That's what they're for, everyone's opinion. Negative opinions are as good as positive ones, it's how you learn.

Anywho, $8000 seems like a lot for a five year old Cavalier. Back in '90, I bought an '86 Cavalier with about the same milage, and it wasn't a Z24 either. Paid $5000 I think...

Mind you, that was a long time ago, and the car was plain jane, not Z24, not PW, PL, or anything. Just air, tilt & cruise. So with inflation and options, ya, $8000 seems about right.

Get it checked over by YOUR mecheanic before you finalize the sale though. Never trust the car lot's statement of "oh we had it saftey'ed".
