Yellow top vs red top optima
#1
Im running a yellow for my car's battery and a friend of mine stated the running a deep cell battery is hard on the alternater because the alt keeps thinking is has to charge the batt ,Is there any truth to this? He said i should get a new batt for main up front and wire the yellow in the trunk to the amps. any thoughts on this?

Im just running the one battery right now (yellow top)But what my friend is suggesting I do is to get a regular battery to run the car and run the yellow top in the trunk to the amps.

A second battery will not really give you more power to your amps, only increase the reserve capacity, so that you can listen longer with the engine off. If you are concerned about giving enough power to your amps, I would look into a higher output alternator. If your stock battery is in need of being replaced, Just get a single battery (yellow or red top will do fine)..
