wiring harness

so im settin up my system, and i have knda a newb question

instead of rewiring my power to constant source, a source through the ignition, and a dimmer, would it be easier to just get a wiring harness for my truck? im amping all my speakers, so the existing wire in the truck wouldn't be used. but this would save me alot of time so i wouldn't have to wire power and ground?

would doing this have any effect on the sq? or functions of the deck?

any suggestions?

Buy the damn harness, about a million times easier to install, uninstall, configure, etc as well as it only costs $9.99 Otherwise run a wire from your battery or tap some fuses.

Since you're not running speakers off the deck, no it won't effect sound quality.

For those who are running speakers off the deck, it's best to use the factory power or harness to switch a relay with power/fuse from battery. That way your current won't be limited by the factory fuse/wire/harness.

ok so i picked one up

now i have another stupid question

the harness has three connectors, two male and one female, and then all the open wires

so the female plugs into my factory wiring, and i connect all the open wires to my deck harness correct?

wuts with the other two male connectors?

Those other 2 connectors are for other factory dodge plugs availabe for different years and makes. Some manufacturers produce cars with certain plugs for certain years or models, and different ones for another year. Your harness appears to be a universal dodge plug, covering both plug options. If you look closely at the harness, both clips share the same wires, so no worries.
