Actualy, wether or not the amp was bridged doesn't change anything.

Bridged, it'll give 480W @ 4ohms. So, if the voice coils on the subs are connected in parallel (2ohms load) and those are connected in series, you go back to 4ohms, thus giving both subs 240W.

If the voice coils are in series (8ohms load) and the subs are in parallel, then again, you end up with 4ohms, and 240W per sub.

Unless it says under the spec. I'm fairly sure its 480w RMS at 2ohms.
The amp is a 2 channel amp that can deliver 240w RMS per channel at 2ohms bridged.
at 4ohms each channel is 170w RMS.
2x240w = 480w.
2x170w = 340w.

So where does this amp get 140w extra when running at 4ohms?

If the subs together are at 4ohms, and you bridge the amp, you'll get 340w.
Unless you mean run the 2 subs together and off of only 1 channel. But that would be 170w for the subs to share. Which makes less sense.



Maybe I should clarify.

EACH sub can run at 2 ohms. ( (4x4)/(4+4) = 2ohm)
Now, you take one sub (keeping in mind the 2ohm part) and connect it to one of the channels on the sub. That alone = 240w to that sub.
rinse, repeat.

Now i got 2 6x9s and 1 12 in sub
6x9 is around 100-150 rms
and sub is 300 rms

i want to bridge 2 channels for the sub(dvc sub) and use the other 2 channels for the speakers

will the amp have enuff power for all 3 speakers?
