Where to purchase sub ports?
#13
Yea sorry, my subs are
2 Image Dynamics IDQ12 D4 V.2
My box is kinda in the middle of the large and normal so here are both
Large | Normal
1.5cuft | 1.25cuft - Ported Volumes
28Hz | 30Hz - Ported Frequency
3"IDx13.75" | 3"IDx14.375" - Port Dimensions
16Hz/28Hz | 18Hz/32Hz - 3dB In car \ Free space
Now I.D says to use 3" but others say 4" so eitherone would do!

OK, HERE GOES..,
OUR TECH SUGGESTS A SINGLE BOX FOR BOTH WOOFERS, THAT WOULD HAVE A TOTAL OF 1.691 CU/FT WITH A SINGLE 4 INCH PORT THAT HAS A LENGTH OF 11.13 INCHES (OR 11 INCHES) AND WITH TOTAL LOAD OF 4 OHMS. ADD A MEDIUM AMOUNT OF STUFFING TO THE CABINET WALLS, ESPECIALLY NEAR THE PORT IF TOO CLOSE TO CABINET WALL.
THIS WOULD GIVE A PORTED FREQUENCY OF 40HZ, F3 POINT IS 47HZ (-3dB) .

According to my pathetic knowledge of porting, I found that two 2" ports move air at less than 10% of the speed of sound and only need to be 5.6" long to port his existsing 3.16cu·ft box to 27.5Hz.
Not sure if I am making a mistake here or something, but a 6" port seems a MIGHT excessive.
