What amp do I need?
I am new to car audio, so bare with me.
I just ordered new speakers for my car (2 x 4", and 2 x 6 3/4"), and was wondering what kind of amp I should buy for them. I also plan to put in a subwoofer soon. I have no clue how many channels to get, and what type etc.
Thanks!

need more info than that man.
what kind of speakers are they?
budget?
...and you are most likely looking for a 4channel amp. ...all really depends on your desired outcome though. you could have anything from a 5channel amp to a multi-amp setup with 2/4 and mono channel amps

just check out the classified section for a small 4 channel amp.
you won't need a $300 amp to properly power those speakers.
just look for a decent condition 4channel wit 40-60rms perchannel and you will be fine.
you will need to run a wiring kit for the amp, and you can just hook the speaker wire up straight to the cars dash harness rather than running through the doors.

a sub woofer is still a speaker. you need 1 channel per speaker.
so no, you would need a second amplifier. either a two channel bridged to 1 channel, or a 1 channel(monoblock)....for a single sub.
or you could get an all in one 5 channel amp and eliminate the hassle of wiring multiple amps, distro blocks, space constraints etc.
....what kind of headunit do you have?

to be honest, if it were me, i would save my $300 and just run those speakers off the headunit.
unless you plan on upgrading the speakers in the future, they should be fine running off the deck, and just get your self a small monoblock amp for your sub.
save your self a hassle and a bunch of money.
