Even with an accomplished welder's assitance, I would look for someone with experience to do this for you.
I built a large system into an S15 with a walk through back in the early 90s. At that time the guy had it done by a shop in Langley that had done quite a few and it was only around $500-600. They did a nice job of it.

I have done a "cut through" in a 1995 Mazda B2200. It's not that hard really. I used a brand new Dewalt recip saw with a carbon blade and work rather easy. And to seal it i went to a truck shop that does big rigs and got one of there rather large grometts and sealed really well and is one of the loudest trucks I have ever done and or seen really with a fiber glass tonneau still on.
