Using 4 channel amp to power front stage?

My RF amp does not have a 2ch selector so it defaults to a 4ch setup. To get around this I used a splitter (see top) and then set the gains by ear

I was doing a training session for a shop last week when one of the installers asked me the most intelligent question regarding 4 channel amps in years. His question was how "out of phase" were channels 3 & 4 with regard to channels 1 & 2 one an amplifier I was trainging him on (I had to call tech support for that one). Indeed, phase can vary between "front" and "rear" channels. In fact, my old installed had to "time align" the custom crossovers we built when I biamped my component speakers using a 4 channel amp (1 driver per each channel). Just a thought.
