Switched power in VW
#1
So I gots myself a 2002 Golf TDI and stuffed my equipment into it. I used one of those harness adapters and spliced the wire labeled "switched 12v" to the switched input on my deck (pretty smart, eh?). Well...it seems it isn't actually switched. I have to power my deck down to get it to shut off.
Anyone else ever run into this? It's the second Alpine I've installed in this car and they both do the same thing. I had my first Alpine in several vehicles before this and it always worked fine.
So...is this a common issue with VW's or just MY VW?
Thanks,
Warren.

Well...it is Saturday tomorrow...I suppose I could sit in my driveway with a case of beer and test your theory. Purely in the name of science of course.
