50hz tone and and multimeter is how I set my gain and it's perfect. I also recommend this method. Little math involved but you can find calculators on line.

mannnn that means I have to find a burnable CD somewhere!

So I took your advice and just tuned it by ear for now. Its just slightly above the 1/3 mark. I still have a similar problem. It's without doubt louder than it was before, but it still only gets louder until around 3/4 volume level then it stops.

I never ever listen to my music above 3/4 volume but I feel like 1000 watts (1209 watt certified by Kicker) Should get me farther. Am I wrong or shouldn't 1000 watts be bumpin?

It might be worth noting that my music will get louder above 3/4 volume level. It gets really loud. With that being said I'm wondering if the sub amp just cant find the power to make sound at that volume level. Maybe its a limitation of my battery, RCA cables (The cheepest wal-mart RCA's lol), or something else? I went cheap on the RCA's but all the other wires are Rockford or monster cable.

Thanks for helping me out this far man, I really do appreciate it =)

The sub is rated for 600 watts rms and kicker amps are good and do rated power, so 1000 watts rms should have that sub wanting to come out of that box or smelling burnt.

Make sure your ground is solid, attached to a sanded bare metal, make sure all your connections are solid, power, ground, rca's and sub wiring.

Yeah all my wires are hooked up right. I have a solid ground but I might try moving it around somewhere after dinner.

It just seems odd that the sub can overpower the music at low volume levels (If the gain is way outa whack) but then get overpowered by the music at high volume levels. I might just have to live with it.

What's the dimension of your sealed box?

Height ? width? and depth? and thickness of material?

I have no idea haha. I know its a little bit bigger than what is recommended. I believe I remember reading it was 1.34 cu feet when I was wiring the sub and looked inside the box.

I can measure it out exactly for you when I get home if you like. I'm thinking about trying my luck with a ported box though. They have quite a few to chose from up at best buy. A couple well name brands too for around 60-80 each. I might pick one up.

Recommended box is around 0.875 cubic ft sealed.

Measure it and let me know, and dont buy a pre-fab box again, I will help you out with a design, and you can make it.

One thing you may of over looked. When you tuned your amp...did you have the sub level at -15 or whatever? Make sure it is at 0. This way you can add bass when needed or turn bass down using this control. The multimeter method works best because you can insure your sub is getting 600rms. Personally I'd tune lightly lower...maybe 1 volt lower giving you let's say 575wattsrms. This way if you turn the bass setting up you won't wreck your sub you'll be Safe.

wooah so It actually has to be smaller? Damn its a big heavy sub I can't imagine it being in such a little box lol. Maybe that is the issue?

Idk about making my own box, that sounds complicated. Do you think it can be done?
