Sub has no power
I just bought a bunch of car audio and hooked it up this weekend.
HU- Alpine CDA 9886
Sub- Alpine 12" type R 4+4
Amp- Mono MRP 500
The head unit works and I have power going to my amp( blue light is on) I cannon get my sub to work though. I've tried everything I can think of. Power wire is good(since amp is working) Remote turn on is connected, Ground is good. I'm thinking it could be the rca's, I think they are in the right preouts, Their are 6 in the Headunit 3 White and 3 red for Front,Rear and SW. I put the red to the red sw and black to the white sw. For the amp I matched the red with the red and the black with the white. Speaker wire is connected fine and I wired it as shown here: _mono.jpg
What could be the problem. Could I have shitty rca's or something? Would this have anything to do with the remote/ground or is it just rcas/ speaker wire that could be the problem?

it could be your rca's, have you tried going through your functions on your deck to see if you have a subwoofer volume control(usually seperate and sometimes defaults to OFF), Try turniong that function on.

I checked my connected like 1000 times so I doubt it could be that. Maybe a messed up a crimp that I can't see or something. Could it also be that the remote isn't working but the power wire is? Or just remote with no power?

with my old hifonics amp, you could trigger all the lighting with just the remote wire, so you would think that the amp is ON, when in fact there was a small green light on the side telling you whetehr the amp was ON or not
