strapping? help
#2
i can tell you how to strap it but i need to know what dials and rca inputs/outputs are on it. not all amps strap the same.
my educated guess would be to do the following,
take one amp and flip the Master/Slave switch to MASTER
take the other amp and flip the same switch to SLAVE
rca's from your deck go into the input of the MASTER
then there should be a single RCA plug on both amps, probably beside the slave/master switch. You run rca wire from that single rca plug on the MASTER into the same single rca plug on the SLAVE.
then you take NEGATIVE speaker outputs from the MASTER and connect them to the NEGATIVE speaker outputs on the SLAVE using the regular speaker wire.
when all this is done all the dials on the SLAVE amp become non functional, you only use the dials on the MASTER amp to adjust both amplifiers.
ALSO -- the POSITIVE speaker outputs on the MASTER get hooked up to your POSITIVE on the subs. and POSITIVE speaker outputs on the SLAVE get hooked up to the NEGATIVE on the sub.
**This is how MOST amps are strapped, i think your db1100 works the same way. However, there are amps that strap differently so I COULD be wrong.
Other names could be used for MASTER/SLAVE switch. Some amps say Pass/Bridge, some say PHASE 0/180, etc.
If you look at your amp and what i wrote makes no sense at all then your amp is probably strapped in a different manner than i described. If you can, take close up pics of the amp where all the dials and RCA plugs are and post them here, I'd be able to tell you 100% how to strap it properly.
