Sounds good, I have a tan interiour.

There must be what, 4 of us that know what the heck the Drive 30 is? Reminds me a bit of the Lake Contour Controler and software package...although not quite as elaborate. Can't wait to see how you like it.

I'll be doing the same type of posting for the kick build up as I did for the doors. Probably be using my 20mm Nikon wide angle lense to get good closeup shots of such a tight area. I find doing the photography pretty enjoyable once I slow down and take my time.

Keep me posted on the Drive 30!!

yes, yes, i'm gonna have to fool Plow to thinking that colour matching his kicks to the rest of a black interior is just plain Ricey! since he's footing the bill, i might as well hit up BMW for some OEM leather!

btw, i have no idea what the Lake Contour Controller is, but it sounds complex.
i'll keep you posted.
btw, what ever happened to the deadening of the door skins? are you going to stray off this thread??

The door skins will not have any more deadening put on them for a while. For now I'm just sticking with the spray on stuff that the pictures on page 1 illustrate. As far as the fiberglass and leather work on the door skin, that is probably even further off. The plan is to optimize the SQ of the system before working on the cosmetics.

Drool away!

If you need black leather, I have a ton of it...or for that mater any other colour. My Dad has a stash of over 3000 SQ feet of leather hides. He's selling it cheap.

Mr.Marco... you make me laugh...a lot. But not quite as much as dawgsbreakfast lately.

I'll have to get back to you on the price of the leather. My Dad is in China right now, so I have to wait for him to get back to find out. It's probably going to be a lot cheaper than vinyl though.

If you are thinking of doing leather, you should wait untill I post a how-to with it. There are some tricks that will make it very easy and enjoyable to work with. My Dad was involved with a company for nearly 20 years that covered things in leather, kind of learned a few things along the way.

I downloaded the software as well for the Lake Contour....must have spent a few days over the last few months playing with it. Pretty cool...but the Drive 30 software looks a lot more practical.

Did you get them yet?

How about now?

Now?

OK....I'll have to wait

Observation I have noticed: those with superior audio tastes frown on anything but 'natural, unadultered' sound and poo-poo on any kind of processing unless the said processing unit is at least $2000 USD, at which it then becomes essential for 'natural, unadultered' sound Just buggin.

For the leather, is steaming it one of the tricks? I've heard that is one way to get it to conform to contours and such because it typically is harder to work with than vinyl which stretches.

Adam,
the drive 30 is not here yet.
no rush on the leather, but can't your dad dash in for a quick sale on a couple square feet??!!
huhh, alto is still not here!
I'll wait for your dad i guess, unless a self constituted power of attorney over his stash sounds tempting!?
damn thing is still not here! AARRRGHGGHH!!
that Lake Contour is damn amazing! the demo videos put me in awe!
where the Fack is this damned EQ!!
SUX2BU, i've got a perfect solution for your observational dillema! I'm just gonna pay $2600 usd for it!! problem solved!
the only left is that its been minutes and theeq is still not here!! but it must be a very expensive and exclusive piece! that must be it!

Sux 2BU, I've got 2 things to say to you.

TLRs

7990

HA!

Actually, I've got more to say. No the leather isn't steamed. There is a chemical (liquid)applied to the leather that does 2 things:

1.) makes it stretchy and somewhat malable

2.) initializes a bonding agent applied to whatever surface you are working with.

I'm also looking at making a big change to my system...and it's not another processor...kind the opposite actually.
