I have dynamat extreme on my trunk lid and it lasted thru the hottest of hot. Did holiday's in texas & florida last summer, and it's been 20 below this winter.
Hasn't cracked, chipped or pealed. Must be good stuff.
I used lots of mat all over the rear deck, around 6x9's. But my subs point into the cabin behind the back seat.

the new stuff has problems. b-quiet, hushmat, second skin i think its called.
dynamat is just a name. like jl audio is supposed to be such great stuff, its just overpriced.

i've got eDead in my two cars.
cheap at $1/ft and worked really well in my civic to eliminate road noise and quiet the cabin down. good investment IMO

You described a problem of dynamat in claiming that it has no problems. Every piece of metal having to be spotless is a pain. Plus, Dynamat original is a total pain in the *** to install. The new stuff is better, but give me Hushmat any day. I haven't worked with everything out there, but there are a lot of products that sound a lot nicer than Dynamat based on user feedback.

nothing sticks to dirt. hushmat is easier to work with because its thinner and cheasier. dynamat is thick and tough. you want your panel to be stiffer and tougher

Lightbulb

I have yet to use Hushmat but the things I hear are excellent.

Of the products I have used, I would take Cascade over any of the rest, then BrownBread, and then the rest are all equal. I would not pay for Dynamat product - I would maybe use it if it was free. maybe.
