I have personally been involved in a project that developed a high end sloped baffle tweeter/mid mounting. The difference was worth the effort.

The most famous sloped baffle loudspeaker I know of is the Wilson Audio Watt/Puppy combination. There are lots of others, but I think most people can identify with this design very easily. It was highly regarded for it's supperior imaging capability. Hard to believe that a pair of modified Focal tweeters and a Seas midbass could sound soo good....but I thought the top end was a little too bright.

Just as a point of reference, most good sloped baffle designs have the voice coils of the midrange and tweeter aligned in the vertical plane. Doing this with an MTM arrangement can be pretty benificial, but it's a trade off with horizontal defraction at higher frequencies.(kind of makes the tweeter beem a bit)

Solen is great. Dukk built me a very elaborate passive 3-way crossover about 10 years ago with all Solen pieces. Beautiful red air-core inductors. Was all mounted on a 24x18 or so board inside my sub box with a plexi wall. Too bad it got stolen
