Use harness, but I would get main power and ground directly from somwhere other than the radio harness. Run a wire to the fusebox ... and ground to the chassis.
An Eclipse radio I pulled from a smashed vehicle at my shop's ground wire was all melted ... I can guess either a bad ground or bad headunit. In either case, ground to chassis minimum.
