Shameful install!!
#1
So my Nephew comes over this weekend and wants me to install a complete new setup for him, ok fine. First step is to tear out the old equipment right? I start under the hood to rip out the old power cable and HOLY SH*T what is this.......
I find the prior installer had run the power wire up under the hood through the weather stripping and down into the foot well. WTF!!!! Now keep in mind this was done by a supposed Pro at a popular audio shop in Brampton(who shall remain nameless) I had to just laugh scratch my butt a little and just rip it out

We got a car in that was WAY worse than that. Had house wiring ... and apparently had a few amps in the trunk as there were like 3 runs of it. One run was cracked from bending back and forth I assume, but it was definitely cracked.
On another note, I would say about 9 of the 10 cars we got in at the yard for wrecking that have a 'system' in it have the wire run that way. All of our vehicles come from Michigan.

That looks like the work of " Sounds Good Audio and Security". Probably moved to Brampton now and under a different name.
If I had not given him my own cables he probably would have used Dollar Store cables. which he did to run a second set of RCAs.
I cannot wait to remove my stuff to show his work here.

Hmmm, gravity mounted fuse.., nice finishing touch.
I've seen jobs like those too obviously, from gravity mounted amplifiers and sub boxes, to magnetically mounted door speakers and rear speakers, including compression fit head units, now that's innovation at work folks.
Some people just gotta have those tunes no matter what, right?
