I just finshed re-doing my trunk floor from that stupid little cardboard cover to a full sized particle board. The middle board section still can come loose since I need to get into my spare tire, so I don't want to directly screw the box onto the cover. What would be the best way to secure my box from sliding all over the place and still easily removable.

I was planning to do some carpeting in my trunk for a more completed look, however I do not know how well this will prevent the box from moving.

Thanks

This is Canada, isn't it, I think duct tape would be in order. LOL. J/K

You could use a strap system like the kind they use to hold battery boxes in boats, just make them a bit beefier.

Duct Tape. What do I look like, Red Green? Use Hockey Tape! It holds better, the black stick tape too, not that stupid clear skate tape.

I was more or less wanting to see a photo or something for someone else who has a massive slide (I know all boxes will slide, but not when you park in the drive way and the slope causes them to go bang).

It has the: Socks on a Hardwood Floor, siding effect.

use velcro, like 3 long strips of it..that covers end to end of the sub box. no screws and no metal showing..but it'll be a lil tricky getting the sub box onto the velcro...good luck

u could use a couple pad locks.... i was lookin at this before, get a couple of them like shed door lock dealys, bolt the U side into the trunk, and the flappy side that goes over it onto the box, its easy to take out if u get a flat, and someone else will have a bugger of a time gettin it out of they try to seal your stuff. just might have to be creative in how/where u put em to make it look pretty... The picture frame and the padlock is actually what I was thinking of doing. The insurance benefit would be great too, my insurance provider doesn't know I have a system in the car but I guess it would be good to inform them if I premiums don't go up (5.3K / year is damn expensive).

I was thinking of putting down Door hinges to centre piece, and have removable pins to pull it out.

Thanks guys,

Kevin
