probably what happened was when you turned up the deck it pushed it to it's limits and blew the fuse. Even though the fuse blew it probably weakend something internally, therefore making it short out easier causing the fuse to blow again. And so on and so forth.
Sony isn't the greatest brand out there, but not the worst either. The problem is they build their products using cheaper parts so that they can sell their equipment for cheaper.
I don't know if I'm helping you much, but this is just what I'm thinking.

k, you said earlier in your thread that you'll be running to amps, are you running both those amps? And what amps are you running?
also, are you using a relay to turn your amps on, or are the amps getting the turn on signal straight from the deck?
you said you double checked your harness, correct? nothing got pinched or scrapped?
Are you running any speakers off your deck currently?

i am running two amps. one was a pioneer 3300t and the other is a scosche 550 im running the amp turn on from the deck to the pioneer, to the scoche. no relay. i didnt visually check the harness, i have no clue where it goes.... i did put a voltmeter to it while the car is running, 12v... no speakers straight off the deck.

Maybe double check the harness, just the after market one...the one that comes off your sony deck, then it should butt connect to another after market from say scoche, metra...ect. which in turn plugs right into the factory. I wouldn't worry about the factory harness, it should be nicely loomed and tied up out of harms way within the car. when you check your aftermarket harness double check all connections where the wires attach together as well as the molex plugs. Give them all a gental tug to make sure they are all tight. Visually inspect all the wires checking that there are no cut or broken wires.
Any wires that are not being used are crimped off, don't tape them or leave them exposed. Use one of thesevvvv
when all is checked and everything looks good, use tie straps to tie all the wires. Don't tape them, you'll just make a sticky mess for yourself if you ever want to change the deck or need any access to those wires.
I can't see there being a problem with your turn on wire, but if you want to take the safe route you could always wire in a relay. I don't have a diagram to show you how to wire one up, but someone else on here might.
Good luck

i rewired my hole car today, moved the speaker amp from under the driver seat to the trunk, going to have both amps mounted to the sub box. i think the problem may have been how i wired the amp previously. I used the speaker outputs from the deck, doubled left and left and right with right, ran two speaker wires to the amp and into the high input. didnt use rca wires. i know, that was dumb and probly caused the problems. my deck only has one rear/sub rca output, will it work ok if i just put a Y cable into the deck and use a rca to each amp? can i just tape up the speaker wires from the deck and not use them? im so happy this hasnt cost me anything just time and effort (I love warranty), but hey what else am i doing with my summer... lol
