rockford fosgate wiring pattern
#1
hey guys...I just bought new rockford fosgate p'1 10 inch 4 ohm subs, but have no idea what the wiring pattern should be. The manual explains it, but not very clearly. im unclear of whether to use 2 or 3 speaker wires to hook the subs up properly. any thoughts? Also, im not sure what to use to wire the subs to the speaker terminal on the box..i used some old wires from my old subs that blew out, but i have no idea if that will work. any suggestions would be much aprreciated! thanks.

The subs you have are single voice coil.....they have spring loaded terminals....one is labeled + and the other is labeled - .
How you hook them to your amp will depend on what kind of amp you have.....please let us know.
Use 12 AWG to 16AWG wire to the terminals in the box.

ya it was the subs, i guess they had blown out in the early stages..as i hooked my house speakers up to the amp and both worked fine. any suggestions on the wiring tho?
i dont know if i want 2 subs at4 ohms = 2 ohm load
or
2 4 ohm speakers = 8 ohms??
-the wiring is still confusing!
any help is welcomed!

well anyoen correct me if i am wrong but if the voice coils ( each sub) is 4 ohms and you have a 4 channel amp...you can bridge the four channels into 2 channels and then jsut hook each sub up 1 sub to each of the 2 channels......and same if it is 2 channel amp 9just wont have to bridge the amp)
