but that's what i said, no? $420 in labour and rest is material. i sure hope you are not paying $100 bux for 16 sqft of subpar sound deadener. atleast tell them to double the amount of deadener for that price.
$75 for the kit, but realistically how much of that kit will be used if the amp is just under the front seat?

i've not found anywhere that gets into the nitty gritty of this deadener vs another.
I do note that it's thicker than the RaaamMatt that i linked. .062" vs .080" FWIW. lol.
Your comment about doubling the amount of deadener for that price is about right Yuli, looking at the prices from sonic electronix.
12 sq/ft = $55 x 2 x $110 + shipping. Not bad either. So that's 24 sqft. Seems to me i'd need 3 of those kits to do a more thorough job of it. So the price would be up to $175 or so for materials there.
The RAAMmat BXT II is half the price for ~37 sqft.
I'm not too concerned about the price difference of the product to be honest, it's not a lot of money. I am concerned with the shop warrantying the install, however.

if you decide to get your own deadner, consider this B-Quiet sound deadening material
located and shipped from within Canada, i think shipping might be free even.

Mckays is an alright place. I've been to the one up island, so I can't comment on the vic location. They're a little expensive but their install should be up to par.
Before you get it installed take a look at the wiring kit you're buying and for how much. Get a tape measure and measure the diameter of the wire (not the rubber jacket) 4gauge should be ~5mm across. American wire gauge - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
If you're buying a kit, make sure you get your extra wire back. You paid for it. Or see if they'll sell you the amount they used instead.
I also highly suggest B-quiet. I bought some from a guy in Alberta for cheap and it works great. Shipping is free but you have to pay GST. He has an Ebay store.

The weight of 50sqft. of B-Quiet ultimate is 17.5lbs, wheras the Ballistic is 10lbs per 12sqft (so 40lbs for 48sqft)
.83lb/sqft eh?
unless i'm mistaken, more mass = more energy absorbtion / deadening, eh?
Wouldnt that make B-Quiet be a real lightweight in comparison?

On B-quiet's website they advertise the weight at 0.35 lb/sq. ft.
