What I'm saying is to find someone you can trust for honest advice, and pay him for his knowledge by buying from him.
If you choose someone from a company that will "bait" you with a deal on a 2 or 3 year old deck, and then try to "switch" you to this years's model (at full pop retail), because it has better features(of course it does), then how honest do you think they're gonna be on something with over 500% mark-up?

If you're doing your own install, and are a rookie, then you will be much further along to pay some labour, let your installer choose the "right " parts for the system.
Do it on your own, and even if you ask the right questions, and are given some right answers, you will probably learn a lot your mistakes (and have a pile of fun, sweat, and tears in the process), but will want to re-do it when you're done learning.
Shop carefully for a good, concientious installer, with more than a few years experience....the one that won't sell you 2 subs, when 1 will do, will do. And the one that won't tell you anything untill he's seen the car, and asked a few key questions would be even better...and you'll only have to do it once.
If you came to my shop, I'd not let you spend much more than $30 on 4 ch of cables unless your over-all budget was more than $2500. Lot's better ways to spend $100 than better RCA's

I'm not a vendor here, but if you can get one of the guys on here to look at your car, you'll be in good hands.

Yeah...I guess that's one way to spend $100. The scenery's nice between Brantford and the Soo. Well $200 if you wanna get back home.

I think this is the most important part of Charlie's post:

If you came to my shop
Yes Charlie, you are showing less than stellar character and upstanding business morals by first slandering your competitors then promoting yourself. You rock

- just like most of your post.

Reality is that cables are always the gravy for ANY shop (even Honest Charlies) and the best a consumer can do is find a balance between quality and cost. Me, I make my own RCAs - that way I control the quality and the cost.

I totally agree. Your just basing Future Shop cause they might get the business you want. Truth be told they have decent RCA's there for what Aero wants. Future Shop also has the lowest price gurantee. If you quote him cheaper, future shop will go cheaper then that. Also the return policy is great too. So before you start knocking other business to better suit your own you should think twice.
