Random Sub Cutoff

Random Sub Cutoff
Interesting problem just happened to me:
Turn on my car, start driving. Notice my stereo sound isn't up to par. Pull over, and check out the problem.
My subs aren't working.
Had everything professionally installed 3 years ago (I like to tinker, but not with a full install) and everything was working fine the day before.
I checked all three of my fuses, everything cool. Amp is still in perfect condition (although I tried a brand new, fresh out the box amp to double check) so I know the problem isn't that.
What the hell could be the problem? If the amp is fine, the fuses aren't blown and the stereo/mids/tweets all still work... what could the problem be?
I am thinking I should pull out the deck and check the back of that... but is it worth the effort?

Nope, nothing at all. No power to the amp either. Sorry, forgot to include that info.
I am not gettin power to the amp. But all the wires are obviously fine (works the day before), the amp is fine and my fuses are fine.

Sorry, I am not too great with the wiring stuff... if the fuses aren't blown, and the connections are strong.. what other problem could be tested on the fuses?

just disconnect the remote wire and attach a smaller wire from the remote to the + terminal. If it turns on there's your problem. Some remote turn ons have an inline fuse behind the deck. Just make sure you disconnect the existing remote wire just incase it is shorted somewhere. If you have an ohm meter just pull the fuse and check for continuity. If everything checks out and your amp still doe not power up then its something internal with the amp.

Ok, so I bought a new bigger amp and replaced the other one with it. My stereo has been working fine ever since.
Now for an even stranger twist.
I decided to give my wife a tiny boost in her sound by putting in a brand new 10" sub, and hooked it all up perfectly fine. I used the old amp that I had in my car before I decided to upgrade (Kenwood KAC628).
The stereo worked fine for a month, and she was happy with the exta kick. Then the amp just stopped working. All my fuses are fine. I am not getting any power to the amp. However, when I run a bridge from the Power to the Remote on the amp, it works just fine. Just made a road trip to Calgary from BC... and ran it like that the whole way with no probs. I obviously can't leave it like that... so what the heck is goin on?
Stupid question? Easy fix? What am I missing?

Your remote turn on lead from the deck is not working..check for 12v at the remote lead. If it's not working, then you may have to run a separate remote turn on lead from another switched(only on when ignition key is on) circuit to the remote input of the amp.

Also, this amp was in my car and then just stopped working after several years. Since I put the new amp in 2 months ago, I have had no problems. The amp worked in my wife's car for a while, then just stopped.
