Quick question on Hook-up

Hey guys, really quick question here, just wanting to make sure I'm hooking everything up right haha. My amp is a Monoblock, but has 2 sets of terminals (+ - + -) I have a 4ohm DVC sub, which needs to be ran at 2ohms to get the power it needs from the amp. Now, I've got two options for wiring. The first, and easiest being run each wire to it's corresponding post (+ to +, - to -, + to +, - to -). I've been told the amp will see a 2ohm load internally, so there's no need to wire the sub down to 2ohms myself. Is this tre, or have I been mis-informed? Or, Option two, actually wire the sub down to 2ohms myself, + to + and - to - on the sub, and then run the lines to the terminals on the amp, the positive on one, the - on the other. Here's a rough diagram, since my wording is a bit rough:

EDIT: In Option two, the wires are gone to the wrong terminals, the wires should be switched around to go to the corresponding terminals. MY bad.

Like I said, can I just go with option one, or must I actually wire the sub down? Thanks once again guys.

It really doesn't matter being that both options are one in the same, but my personal preference has always been to run separate wires from each coil back to the amp. This way changing loads later on is easily done without pulling subs out of the box and whatnot.

^ That's what I'd rather do as well. I kind of wanted to know first though, rather than put the sub back in the box, only to have to take it out to wire it down to 2ohms. Thanks a lot, I appreciate it.

You need to run the first scenario as this wiring will provide you with a 2 ohm load.

Picture 2 is series and will give you an 8 ohm load.

Depending on your amp, it will vary your power. The new JL's have consistant output at several impedance loads. Not sure about the Kenwood.

What they meant about your amp is that the terminals are wired in parallel inside so you can hook up 1 voice coil to each terminal, and your amp will internally parallel those connects. So, 4+4 config sees a 2ohm load overall.
