Question about installing custom ports
#1
Ok I cam accrost 1 piece of alluminum piping about 30" long and 2" in diameter. I want to try and use this piping but i dont know how I would secure it in the whole. Would I just try sillicone or does someone have a rick they are willing to share? Thanks!

I agree, I usually go with 3" diameter tubes and theres no port noise!
To secure it I usually make it fit tight and then put some bulldog grip sealer on the inside of the box, around the hole. I would think silicone would be too flimsy for my tastes. However, it shouldn't really fall out if no one kicks the box or anything...

Make the hole for the bots tube a really tight fit
Or, you can make the hole really small from the front (Like an inch or somehing) and rout out a 2" hole half way through the wood, then epoxy your port tube in (out sidewalls of the tube nore than inside walls) Let the epoxy dry, and use a flush trim bit with your router inside the little hole to make the hole the exact diameter of your tube.. then use a round over and make your port rounded
