Pick up a used 5442 - came with manual which doesn't really explain aux-in.

quick inspection of the cabling doesn't lead to any leads explicitly called AUX-IN.

off hand does anyone know how to hook up an external source(sirius tuner) to the 5442 via rcas?

thanks
craig.

Is this a cd5442 or a 5442?

If my memory is right the Aux input is not an rca input but a mini plug if it has aux in. Push the source button, it should cycle from tuner / cd / aux. If you have an rca type output signal to go into this cd player you need an mini stereo to female rca adaptor cable, available at pretty much any Radio Shack. The aux input should be a black wire with a small post the size of a headphone jack and the wire should be about 3-6" in length.

yes there is short black cable ending in a mini plug but the hole is threaded which I haven't seen before for this type of plug - anyways I guess I going to have to bench the deck first and figure this out before my install.

thanks
craig.

Does a pair of headphones plug into this jack, if it does that is the type of jack that you need. From memory I believe it is.

I'll have one of these cd players in the store within a couple of days, I'll let you know for sure what the aux input configuration is.
