Avital 2100 - $200 installed at Future Shop. Good set-up and very reliable. Features include starter kill, shock sensor, trunk pin, door pins, parking light flash and I believe it to be a 118db siren. Also has 2 additional outputs for maybe power trunk release or other imaginative ideas. Didn't you buy your Rockford stuff a Future Shop too?

if you call your insurance company and give them the propper info they will insure it it will cost you a bit. its around 3 dollars per hundred of sterio.
if your not at the $2000 mark yet well your covered for $1500 anyway.
but if you do catch them there are no rule about above or below the belt you just hurt them so they cant do it again IMO!

Having thieve's bust up your car is better than having them steal your stuff for one reason:
If they smash your car, u claim it on insurance and it gets fixed.
If the DON'T smash your car (but they WILL still do damage) you claim it on insuarnace and you DON'T get your stuff back.

A friend of mine put fish hooks behind his deck when he installed it. His car did get broken into and some damage was done trying to get the unit out, but nothing was taken and he was able to follow a blood trail to the nearest convienience store. A little time watching a security tape with the owner of the store and TA DAA. Thiefs face on camera.

A very similar situation happened to me last Wednesday. I go out to my car in our parkade at 5:45 am to find my window busted but nothing taken. Alarm had gone off so scumbags bolted. While cleaning up the glass, 3 scumbags walk into the parkade and are obviously suprised to see me. One has a backpack. I knew it was them, they knew I knew so they tried to act cool about being lost and made a quick exit. I played it smart and didn't try to force a confession out of them as 3 to 1 and you know one of them is going to have a screwdriver, isn't good odds even if I am 6'2", 260 lbs and each one of them was a fair bit smaller. They didn't waste any time trying to overcome me and take my stuff though. They found the nearest exit
