thanks, Car Trek, I appreciate the insight, as this is something on my list of things to do in the near future...

regards, Mark

OK....I just did the first real "tweak" to the system.....I got the phase dialed in between all the drivers, tried the RTA, and found that my ears did a better job, (along with my handy dandy phase invertor), (but having a visual did give me some direction), and the Cav is sounding quite fine!

I'm takin back what I said about the SQ thing......It's gettin up there.
I took the processor out of the loop, except as a high pass filter for the tweets.
The highs are on the front of the deck, rhe doors are on the rears, with only the amp's subsonic dialed in at 45 Hz, the kick tweets are in phase with the doorw, and the dash is outa phase........there's still a bit of a hole in the centre of the windshield, but I'm gettting closer.. maybe another set of tweets in the centre of the dash will help

If anyone want's a schematic for the invertor, PM me....most awesome tool you'll ever own for SQ.

I kinda enjoyed the 20 or so demo's I did tonight....we're doing a weekend long Bike/Car/Semi show, and tomorrow, we're going to do an "on-site" install with some Kicker SX amps into a Blazer with JL XR 3 ways in pods on the dash.
Should be a fun show.... beer gardens, bands, bikinis, fireworks, and if I can pull it off, we're gonna put all 4 cars on the same FM station, and see if we can out-do the P/A there. (Phasing 4 cars from a distance will be a challenge.)

That's if the station wants any more of my ad dollars LOL.
J/K 101 FM Rocks in this town.

I'll let ya know how it goes.

ITs guys like you that make car audio as cool as it is! I love to see people think outside the box and do things that people said couldnt be done. The work looks top notch as well so congrats on that. After hearing how much SPL those doors put out it makes me want to almost do that in my civic. One question though, does the midbass image up on the dash or does it sound really low in the doors?

The image moved up a lot now that I got the phase right.
There's still a small hole in the middle, but a bit more playin around should cure that. Haven't really done anything about the aiming of the tweets yet, and they're all swivel mounts, so I should be able to tweak it a bit more.

Re the image....it's not as good as kicks, cause the path length is way off, but it's a trade off for SPL, and low bass extension.

We managed to get all the cars playin the same tune (Knockin' on Heaven's Door by GNR....good tune fore a biker rally!) and it was pretty kewl....not as loud as the bands, cept for the bass! Didn't get a free plug either, but it was fun anyways.
Had 3 L7 12s, 4 Fusion 12s, and 1 IDQ 12, all going with around 2500 watts RMS or better. Don't think they were all in phase tho, but depending where you stood, there was a good bit of thump.
