Very cool having a center channel, how do you like it? Planning on keeping it stock/upgrading it/rip it out?
So if we manage to get our 5.1 up and running before we meet up at a comp, we'll have a 5.1 129.9 rubber match
Sealed or ported --Bro, the sq in your cavi was awesome. I gotta agree with your decision... keep it sealed if it means better sq

Knowing your liking for lowwwwsss... you will probably find MUCH more output ported in the lower frequencies... partly due to the quick natural frequency roll-off of most subs in a sealed enclosure... but it doesn't hurt to try both. My JL's sounded pretty good when they were sealed.

Yeah, pretty hard to judge if you like the center channel when its hissing at you .. but someone sure liked it!! lol
I agree its worth a $100 to find the best box for a car, you sure have the room to try a big ported one, 29.9 bassrace at 30hz would be cool, as long as you can still get the RTA score... I say that mostly cause I'm really looking forward to hearing the sq system in such a big plush car .

Stay tuned lots of progress is going to be made in the next few weeks.

Well finally got some pics.
So far deck is in, however needs to come out tomorrow to run RCA's. At that time I need to remove the dash kit and put some shims in as it sits recessed almost 1/4" into the dash trim. I at least want it close to being flush to the factory trim piece. Will take pics of it then.
Clarion midbass' are in the doors finally. Which is where I ran into small snag #1. In the pic you can see the 3 white pieces around the opening. The opening itself is just deep enough before the metal and diameter fits the 6.5s perfectly but leaves no room for mounting screws.
The factory 6.5s have 3 tabs sticking out 3/4" with screw holes in the tabs. So since I couldn't have them sticking out any farther due to clearance issues under the factory grills. Unlike the Cavi I will not be driving this around with gaping holes in the door panels just for the sound. The solution was to grab an old computer case and the jigsaw and get to work....
In keeping with the factory look and ease of install I am keeping the factory tweeter pods on the sail panels. Small snag #2 they used a weird little coax with 2.5" mid and a 1/2" tweeter. Lots of room inside to mount the Clarion tweeters with a littlle custom metal fab work though. Top pic is the factory 2way coax, middle is the mounting plate made from the center pieces of the midbass rings, bottom is tweeter mounted in plate and ready to be screwed into factory pod...
All securely mounted and ready for install...
All screwed in and ready to go back in the car...
You cannot look at it close enough even holding it in your hand to tell it is not factory...
Midbass' all ready to go in...
Tweeter pods all screwed back in and sounding beautiful even off the factory
Infinity amp...
Midbass' back in the door. Not the most ideal install on them but they will work for now. Once they start getting 230rms per side I guarantee there will be some rattles. With just the Infinity there is a slight buzz occasionally already. Good thing it is only a 5 minute job to remove both...
Grills back on, but kinda hard to pass off the bright yellow as factory speakers huh LOL...
Power wire, RCAs and sub go in tomorrow. Will be using the 4ch Memphis that was on the fronts until a sub amp can be found. Will be hooked up bridged to 230rms to each 4ohm coil. Slapped in a crappy prefab ported box for now. I also have a crappy sealed box and a bunch of fiberfill so I will be experimenting a little in the next little while. I have a rather large "Ski passthrough in the center of the back seat. Kinda playing with the idea of doing a 4th order bandpass with port stcking through the ski hole.
