need help installing a sub and car deck

i got a sub with an amp the sub is a alpine SWS-1240 and the amp is a Alpine mrv-100m. I need to buy a car deck and i was wondering if i need to find a match with the amp that i have. One of my friends told me i need to find the right deck with the right # of watts and i didnt think so so do i? and i also wanted to know what kind of wire do i need. do i need to rewire my whole car so someone sayed or not because it is a 1993 does that mean i need to rewire my whole car?

Thank you

it doesn't matter what cd deck you get..you just have to make sure it has the rca connections and a remote wire. wattage isnt a great concern because most decks come at around 50x4 watts. As for wiring your car, all you will have to do is get a wiring harness that is meant for your car so your deck can hook up to the wires your car came with, a mounting bracket so it fits, and a wiring kit to get the power from your battery to your amplifier. The kit will come with rca cables, remote wire, copper connectors, speaker wire, power wire and ground wire.

The most secure method is to solder your harness connections and cover them with heatshrink or black tape.

You can buy wiring kits at any car audio shop or futureshop/bestbuy.

yes soldering is the best method however ive always just taped them and i havnt had any problems. you can use any wires for the sub...if its a one channel amp, put a wire from the positive of the amp to the positive of the sub, and another from the negative of the amp to the negative of the sub..send me a pm if you have any problems.

I drew this up quickly.

Because you are running a single voice coil sub woofer that is 4ohms and your amp is 4 ohms, you can hook up the terminals directly to the amplifier.

a capacitor isnt necessary for your setup and i dont know what you mean by where do you ground it if you dont change your speaker..you just find a solid metal part that you can bolt onto that is part of the chassis.
