need help installing deck newbie

installing in a 96 trans am
first question is i have two wires that i dont know what to do with, one;s yellow and in the manual for the deck says its for a live terminal in the fuse box connecting to the battery(bypassing the ignition switch), then the other wire is red and the manual says it goes to the accessory terminal in the fuse box anybody know what to connect these wires to.

also i connected the ground cable coming from the power cable to the black ground cable coming from the car. but there is also a place on the back of the deck for a ground, a little tab, what am i supposed to do with that ??

first time installing my own system so hopefully there not stupid questions

these are what the wires do in my car

put the yellow one to a fuse or wire that has constant battery power (always on), you can check that with a digital multimeter or a regular test night, the red one goes to a fuse that is tuned on by the ignition being turned on, again test with a test light, the wire should be dead with the key off, then have power when the key is turned forward to the "on position", as long as the black wire in the deck harness is going to a good ground, I wouldnt worry about the tab too much.

I strongly suggest you get the radio replacement harness for your car. Its a pretty basic harness and will save you the trouble of cutting wires and screwing things up.
Did the 96 TransAm come with a 'premium' system? I had a 96 CamSS and it had an amp for the 4 speakers and an amp for the sub. That would be hard to replace the head unit, unless you replace the whole system.
