i would just put in the amp in your vehicle then decide if you need it or not. There are other things you can do to your car besides adding a cap and spend your money on other parts of the electrical.

With that much power you might want to do your "big 3" in 1/0.

Big 3 = alt to battery +, engine block to chassis, and batt - to chassis.

Most people will recommend you stay away from a cap,I would do big 3 and see if you get a lot of voltage drop. What size of alternator does your car come with, what kind of car?

I'd stay away from caps, they do more harm then good.

perfect example of one of those guys that tells you to stay away from caps, oviously they serve no good if you dont do the big 3 first, but after its been done, i'm sure they can help quite a bit, i'm looking into buying one too

OK ... so what can a cap do... what cant it do?

When is it needed is the question... I cant answer that one, I would spend my money on batteries or alternators.

I'd agree with them on the "big 3" first and then cap later. I've done the big 3 on my car, and a new battery and with 1 12" my headlights still dimmed. Now before cap I'm upgrading my alternator and then I'm going to go from there. Should do the same, it probably wouldnt hurt to have a better alternator than a cap and a shitty alt.

either way they still put your charging system under more strain and harm it more in the long run. When I get home I'll post the link for you, it's a pretty good read.
