so for getting the port length I would do 10inch long pipe and then the flared ends would add about 2.25 inches giving me 14.5 inches in total port length?

the flares add 1 inch to the port in total, the actually flaring part does not count as the port.

so then I would be best leaving the precision port the original length (12 inch tube) ?

If your using a precision port.. take the straight port length and subtract 5"s, this is your center tube length.

Once the port is fully assembled it should end up being 1" longer then the straight port length.

For example. lets say you need a port 15"s long.
The center tube is made 10"s long.
The TOTAL precision port should end up being 16"s long.

im confused, yuli is saying there is only an inch of USABLE port area for the flared ends and ur saying that each flared end has 3 inches or usable port area?

scarlem... how long of a port would you need if it where to be a straight port??

get a 8.5 inch straight pipe, and when you attach the flares to it the total lenght from one end of the flare to the end of the other flare should be 14.5 inches. Thats how he does it. I do it another way which i currently forgot lol.
