Hmmm, if I use Baltic birch for a speaker cabinet, will it give the sound a foriegn accent?

What about using two different types of wood, and/or two different thicknesses? How will it affect cabinet resonance?

Lspade, there's nothing wrong with particle board K3. My T-line cabinet is made of 5/8 particle board, it killed the suspension in my Accord, but It's been bumpin' for many years now.
As Wagonized mentioned, "Bracing is the key".
BTW I think particle board absorbs resonance better than MDF.

I went to rona, and asked about baltic birch, they had no clue; but they showed by their high quality birch plywood, and there was one that was whiter, and another that was browner.

And then some of the birch had more thinner layers than another variation. What would be better for this birch plywood? More layers or less? It was as much as $44 for a 5x5 sheet...holy

What does baltic birch look like?

Due to my limited space, I can't use 3/4" throughout, except for the woofer face..

Would mixing different thicknesses be bad?

More layers = more strength.
