Mazda RX-8?

Just wondering what some of the options/issues are in adding an amp and a small sub to the factory Bose setup?

Also any experiences with this car would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, since I can't use an after market deck with the new car I have a DenonFord RFX8250 for sale.

Thanks

Sterling

my neighbor has an aftermarket head unit in his, if i see him this week ill ask him some details about his set up.

if you do keep the factory set up, a line output converter seems like the easiest solution to run an amp and sub.
you could go with one of the aftermarket interfaces like a jl clean sweep or a 360.1 or the alpine vehicle hub

RX-8 is a hot ride man, good luck. I've got a buddy in sherwood park with one. I'll see if he has a system and I'll try to get back to you.

I have done two systems in RX8's, one with a new headunit, one without. If you want to keep your head unit and you do not have the factory NAV functions, you put the radio in the top console where the NAV tray would normally sit. The alternative and highly expensive alternative is to rebuild the main radio bezel and remove and rewire the factory radio.

If you do not want to keep the factory headunit, add the Audio Control 6XS or LC6i + bass remote to allow you to properly tap into the factory system.

I stock a spare RX8 dash here at the store for making the new custom dash panels if this interests you. Here is a link to the pics of my work as posted by another member for me.

I believe what he meant to say was if you don't want to go through the factory HU to put the aftermarket in the top console and if you do want to keep it use a product such as the Audiocontrol piece.

You are indeed correct. This saves the costly rewire and necessary relocation of the factory headunit.
