Question

When I am considering the lenght of my ports, would I use the actually volume of the box, or the 'virtual' volume after I add stuffing??

From what i have been told adding stuffing to a ported box is not a good idea. It can plug up the port(s). Unless you staple a layer on the inside walls of the box.

I would calculate the port size of the actual volume inside of the box, after driver displacement and port displacement of course!

I have used polyfill in ported boxes for many years without a problem.

yeah.. if it starts blowing out the ports, you didn't do it right If it blows out the ports, you can put some screen over the back of the ports.

I have never had a issue with fill in a box.

all port calculation should be after final displacement.

And don't forget to subtract the port displacment from the final enclosure volume.

What does final displacement mean?

Final as in minus the sub and port displacement.

Or Final as in, final once the stuff is put in, and you calculate the new 'virtual' bigger size?

Sorry for the confussion, I just don't want to screw up at the end of the install...
