Looking to refresh my setup

I've been given good advice every time i've asked something so, I hope to get some opinions with a few questions I have. This spring I'd like to replace my 1 10" sub with two 12's powered with a bigger amp. So starting from the bottom up, my power and ground are wired with 4awg w/ soldered connections. Big three is also done with the same 4awg. The alt is maybe pushing 70-75amps at 1700rpm if I'm lucky. Both amps I have now are fused at 60amps if I remember correctly at the battery and have never blown. Battery's health was 100% when checked last month. To date I have had nothing but good experiences with the stereo as a whole. I only want to change it up because I want more lower end.

This is where my planing starts. I want two 12's. I'm pretty much decided on this as a box size for a pair of 15's is a bit much for my trunk. I was sketching out a box design that would have both subs side-by-side (perhaps inverted) in a "V" formation with my two amps sitting on a shelf like platform in the middle of both of 'em. [ \__/ 'like so' ] Everything would then be installed on a subfloor I hope to install in the trunk by the end.

Things like what brand of subs and amp to go with is where I'm most stuck at. I know what I have now is making my amp work enough. So I'm pretty well stuck with 1000w max for both subs so something with 2x500wrms would be ideal.

I have no problems ordering equipment online within Canada, if I can get it at a fair price. I've bought everything I have now at a local shop and they specifically carry Alpine gear. While I dont mind that, they are hard to haggle down in price when buying a set of items.

So what I was going to get was two 12" type-r, and the mrp-m1000 amp locally. I know I'd only get a combined price of maybe $75 under the msrp of the items unless there was some crazy sale that happens once and a while. I'm prepared to pay that, but I thought I'd look around first.

Now if you've read all that, what I'm looking for is:
-Would my power/charging system be strong enough (4awg?)
-Are there any good online outlets or shops here in Ontario that have fair prices?
-If not Alpine what would you recommend in this case?
-Where is the best place to buy HO alternators? (150ish amps)
-Dynamat, is there a place that carries it for cheap? I've gone on this long without it but would like to invest in it, if the price is right.
-That box/rack design; would it sound good if the box was done right? I've only listened to something where the sub(s) was facing backwards.

--------------

What I have now.
The box I built turned out great too, Jalat/LowTonez suggested the dimensions. Can't wait to build the next one!

-Thanks in advance

Sure thing. I am around at rather odd hours. Not early in the morning though. I am 3 hours behind most people as I am in the west.

nice to see someone else close to my area lol.. if ur gonna run 1000watts rms. send at least 1/0 to the rear or 2gauge even. i ran a 4gauge off 1000watts rms and it drops the voltage good. but i did have a 20ft run lol.

rob will set u up good and since i know what sudbury north bay timmins sells i would stick with something that this area doesnt have. more of a wow affect type of thing lol.

but what some of us like to know is what car and whats the budget

The car is a '00 4dr sunfire that I got from my parents in high school. I'm gonna keep driving it 'till it's dead or until I'm done college and just pass it to my younger brother.

It's in dire need of some sound deadening in the trunk.

As for budget, it really depends on whether I go with another 10" or completely replace my 10" and 500watt amp and go with 2x12's and something near the 1000wrms mark. Therefore budget may be bigger if I sell my old gear as apposed to adding to it. As it stands now the audio gear in the car is worth more than the car itself, so I dont want to put more than 1100ish back into it again.

You don't need to go out and buy 0 awg wire..just buy another 4 awg and run both.

If you make your own box and installation then you don't need to go local, but if you need them to build and install stuff for you, then it might be best to stick to the same guys that have already been surving you.
