i have been using my set of custom carbon fibre hd braxials for about a year now and have been very happy with them in the stock locations in the door... but ive been getting an itch to make some kick panels for them after seeing fatwhacker's car...

however... i know absolutely nothing about to start them... i have a bunch of questions... first would be aiming... where do i aim them? should it be towards the dome light or is it done all by listening? second would be construction... am i able to make them without a back to them? what materials & techniques have worked best for you guys?

thanks

tape the floor where you are going to place them glass the tape then remove the glassed tape off of the car remove the tape now you have the back of the pod
place the speaker on the spot that you are going to do the pod make a jig place the speaker in the jig play with it untill you are happy
now tape the jig without the speaker to the glass back and now glass the face

What?

You didn't mention anything about using a fiber glass mat, or fleece. Glass on its own is too brittle and will break without being held together without some form or cloth or fleece. Glass is hard and strong, but needs something to hold it together.

well i got a good amount of info already on the construction... there is a very good sticky on caraudio.com about them...

as for aiming, the guy who started the sticky said to aim them at the headrest... but ive also heard that you should aim them at the dome light?
