Question JL Audio Slash2 500/1 and RBC-1 - HELP?!

Well I had my 500/1v2 amp installed with my 12W6v2 sub on Friday. While it was being installed, I opted to have them add the remote bass controller (RBC-1).

While I am very happy with the output of my amp and sub combo - I can turn the RBC-1 all the way either way while listening to all types of music, and don't notice any difference whatsoever.

Should you be able to hear a difference when adjusting the RBC-1?

Help?

Thanks Tony - I will try controlling it from the amp.... so there should be a noticeable difference on a hard hitting song when the dial is articulated from one side to the other?

Ya you'll know.. also one thing, I think the amps crossover has to be turned on (IE LP or HP) for it to work, not 100% sure on that, so even if you are using your headunits crossover, turn on the amps and set it to 200 if you want..

The RBC does what the boost **** on the amp does, so you have +15db of boost on that ****, so as long as you don't have the subsonic filter way higher than your boost center freq you'll hear a diff, especially if you crank it up.. even if they do overlap, you'll hear a diff really..

let us know

Thanks Tony - I have the amp set to the way the shop installed it... the **** does nothing. I trued unplugging it at the amp, and stuck my head in the trunk and manually adjusted it at the amp with moderate volume and again could not hear an audible difference.

I think it's time for me to read the JL manual.

I'll definitely play with the crossover as you have suggested. I hope that I will get a chance again tomorrow after work.

Thanks!
