installing a second batt.

So like the title says i bought a new batt, i wanted to install it and at the same time, ditch the capacitor i already have. i have a 4 gauge run to the back of my car but would it be okay to hook up the wire from the front batt to the back one and ground the back batt to the frame?
I know for safety there should be fuses between front and back, and there is, but if i take the power wire from the rear batt to the amp, im going to need to add a fuse?

Yeah you can hook up ground to chassis. Some would run additional to front battery. I've even seen amps grounded to chassis and front battery. Some cars don't have a great ground path.

It's not totally necessary to fuse from rear battery to amp if the amp has it's own external fuses. If it runs any where dangerous you could. I've got a buddy that doesnt even run a fuse from front battery to amp. He thinks it robs power. As long as he doesn't burn down his car.

Before you ground to the chassis check the resistance. If it's over one ohm. run a direct cable from the engine batt. if you avoid this recommendation you may end up up nuking both the amp and batt.
