soder burn on the fore head last winter. Couldn't get out from under the dash in time to get it off and it smelled like ***.
Years ago I had a bad habit of putting my router upside down in the vise to trim panels. Vise fell out one time wile it was going. Well stupied me decided to try and catch the routher while is still on. Took a good piece out of my thumb. Could have been worse.
Knocked my self out cold with my logic probe. I had clamped on a battery and walked away while holding it. Well i walked to far and just as I turned around it came flying off and hit me right in the fore head. The funny thing is it cracked and Snap On replaced it.
Other than that I have no fealing in my finger tips any more.

- Solder in the hair
- Solder in the back on the neck (I was fleeing, damn it)
- Hit in the head with a 2x4. Friend was 'cleaning up' the garage before we got to work and hit me in the back of the head when he turned. Fell forward and cracked his windshield with my head. I don't remember either impact but I remember hitting the ground. Probably looked like the 3 stooges from a-far.
- Was almost incinerated when sparks from a power wire fell to the ground and ignited oil (I was at work). I ran fast enuf to outrun the fire ... took about 1 minute to put out the flames !!
Non car audio related tho it could happen: Was at school (electronics class) and the techer was soldering. Put his iron on the dek but NOT in the holder. I went to talk to him and put my palm on his soldering iron.

holly crap, alot of soldering mishaps here!
as usual, Adam is right... best off keeping it safe. i'm usually pretty smart with the tools but this one got me unprepared.
Tim, i think your injuries take the cake! anything that goes to the bone really hurts (prob much more than mine!). nonetheless, i think the driling through your own finger is the most excruciating thing ever (yeah, had that happen to me too...).

Nothing too bad for me thankfully although I have way less time installing than many of you do. Few burns here and there including the tip of a heat gun on the underside of my forearm. That's about it.
I can say it: I'm afraid of my router
But, that makes me very cautious when I am using it. I take very careful note of where my hands are and hold what I am cutting really tight. My fear is to either have the piece I am cutting fly out of my hands or a bit breaking at 27,000 RPM.

Getting a little too close to the backside of the brad-nailer on a box, and got finger [img]graemlins/thumb.gif[/img] twice before I stopped.
each nail was in almost a half an inch, and I was excruciatingly attached to my project.
more painful than dammaging, lesson learned!
