install problem with ford....

I have a 2002' ford taurus, and I want to install a aftermarket stereo in it, finally!! lol.
It has the electronic heater controls, now is there any way to bypass this Junk? I want to install a aftermarket deck but I see this as being impossible or near to it!! I have aftermarket speakers installed already(pioneers in the rear, and jbl's in the front), now I want subs and mp3...Anyone have any idea's? OTHER THEN TO GET A NEW CAR?!?!?! lol

put it under the armrest is the only solution I could come up with, there is no trim kit for the digital heater. I gave up and am buying a new car (well thats not the only reason)

check out Metra or Scosche head unit adaptor kits for the taurus. They have adaptors including the heater control holes. You remove the heater control from the OEM face and put them into the aftermarket adaptor.

Ahh if you read my inital post, I have the DIGITAL dash kit(not a manual ****),

menace, I cannot find a digital dash kit, I don't think they make one!!

And yes, I believe the armrest where my 6 pack cd changer is, I could rewire and put in my mp3 deck, but what a PITA!!

Like I said I have looked and they do not make a kit. I have the cd changer in the trunk my armrest converts to a seat. What about glovebox and use the remote, otherwise your not using the changer with the new deck so ditch it. You could also look into using an audiocontrol or mtx req, jl cleansweep etc

I don't like the idea of a cleansweep or audiocontrol, I guess its STock or armrest!! lol. Way to go ford for the gayest design in a vehicle possible !!

soooooooo when you bought this car, did you forget you liked aftermarket car audio?? I say this same thing to people who come whining in after buying a YJ/TJ..

Anyway, you could try to find an Alpine 1656 CD Changer controller and an Alpine changer. Basically it looks like an FM changer controller except it has fr/rr RCA outputs and a line in for your stock radio. I wanted to keep my stock radio so I use one in my car.

Another thought I had the other day when looking at an overhead DVD screen combo was to add one of those. They usually have a line in you could use for your factory radio. No good if you have a sunroof though..

Ohhh dukk

I wasn't with the GF when she initially bought the car, so thats my defense, I NEVER buy domestic!! Ever!! To many damn problems!!! I personally only EVER used to buy them, til the same car had 3 engines and2 trannies go in it, within a year!! So I quit buying domestic(closest now is DSM/Mitsubishi/Dodge)
I like the idea of the 6 pack Alpine with rca outs', I will look for one!! Thanks for this idea!!
