HU Wiring Assistance (two quickies)
Okay, so I recently decided that I would add a pair of 10's to my setup. I was initially going to use an LOC to tap the stock amp/sub combo however I found an older Aftermarket HU that a friend was hanging on to that I will be able to use.
The HU in reference is a Clarion DXZ585USB
I have an aftermarket Amp that will be feeding just the Subs, which have an RCA cable to run to the HU. However, on the HU is a blue/white wire that is labeled AMP "turn-on lead" - Am I right to assume this is a signal wire for the amplifer? The RCA cables I purchased have a small line braided between the red/white RCA cables...are these meant to attach to one another?
Lastly, the Mazda pigtail I purchased to mate the Aftermarket HU with the car has one extra wire, it is black...How can I figure out what that is meant for? The black wire coming from the Aftermarket HU is obviously a ground..and I wouldn't image the pigtail would need to be grounded as well so I figured I'd ask!
Thank You Kindly
*edit* Here is the wiring diagram if that assists anyone in my query: http://a248.e.akamai.net/pix.crutchfield.com/Manuals/020/020D585USB.PDF

turn-on lead - that goes to your amp rem for remote turn on, i.e. when you turn the hu on the amp also will turn on.
The small line braded between the rca is there to connect the turn on lead from hu to rem on amp, use one of them only if you have more than 1 rca and ignore the rest.
Black is ground, if you want to verify test it with a multi-meter, and if it's extra jus ignore it. Use a good grounding point for your hu ground.

So my AMP has two RCA's, or a pair I should say of red and white, would I then need the remote turn on Wire?
If so I'll just use the small braided line between the RCA cables and tie that in to the remote turn-on lead.
Am I following you correctly?
Thanks again.
