how would i do it?

all good man just wanted to know the year and make for my own benefit to help you out, I would upgrade you factory grounds first of all, basically get rid off whats there and put new ones in use 4 guage ground cable and keep them as short as possible but enough for vehicle flex and remember don't put them on painted surfaces !!!!! power your factory alternator with 4 guage power wire as well that factory power wire isn't acceptable for your aftermarket application. As for your cap, what are the fuse ratings of your amps and how long is your power wire going to them? and where are your amps grounded to and how long is the cable?
uhm im not actually sure about the fuses but you can check the amps out if you want they are clarion dpx1851 and apx640.2 the power cable is about 17 feet and my amps are grounded to the body

do you have a mutimeter? if so what I want you to do is undo your grounds from the amp, then measure the resistance from the the cable going into the amp to where it is grounded. Tell me what the resistance is. i just want to check out how effective this cable your using is for your grounds...

I checked your dpx1851 amp and it has the potential to draw 90 amps of current, I couldn't find any info on the apx 640.2 can you look on the amp and tell me how many and what size fuses there are ............................... long story short you don't have enough power wire at a 17 foot length to draw 90 amps of current properly !!!!!! your going to need to either upgrade to 0guage then go to a fused fused distro with a couple of 4 guage outs OR add another run of 4 guage. This will help considerably !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Caps have been discussed to death........... "MOST" caps on the market are sales gimmicks to make money. They do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to improve your sound system. If you want to continue to believe so, you can go ahead.
The advice about the big three is dead nutz on the money.

Its only weird because your not exposed to it on a daily basis. You look at the fuse's on the amps add them together and you have your POSSIBLE draw. Having 17 ft. of power wire is too little for that ammount of possible draw double up your power wire or go to zero guage.
