Buy a distribution block with 4 - 4ga outs. Usually it has 1/0 ga in, but you can still put the 4ga into it. Wire everything into the distribution block.

they can release the power faster than you battery so you get a louder boom when the bass hits, it takes alot of the strain off your altrnator(yeah spelt it wrong) and i found they make it alot cleaner

cap = louder boom? no way and as for the strain on the alternator, i wouldn't go that far either because the alt then has to work to restore the charge for the cap. i had a cap on my current system, and while it made some improvement in getting my lights to stop dimming, it wasn't that big a difference, and in the end i had to get a new battery. my cap and alt were not keeping up. might be due to my 8 ga. kit, but who knows. either way, i'd say no a big 3 upgrade instead. and the louder boom thing is wrong. i took mine out at the middle of a show because it fell out of the mounting bracket i made and i was no less loud with out than i was with it. i used to be a firm believer in caps, but now not so much.

oh and jalat, best diagram ever

The best way is to have a professional install it with for you, as they do it on a daily basis, access to the proper power distribution/specialty tools and experience etc.

If you can not afford to have this done for you. There are a certain things you must minimally do for a safe connection. Run the 4awg from the battery (with a fuse under the hood). Wherever the power wire goes into the vehicle, use a grommet to protect the cable from bare metal. Solidly mount the cap and amps close together to keep the runs of power cable short. Then run the two positive and two negative cables from the amps to the positive and negative terminals of the cap (using the cap as a distribution block). Then run one more negative cable from the cap to ground.

All of these connections are done with 4awg ring terminals.

Good luck.

i used the wrong word with the louder thing, try sharper because it can discharge faster than the battery, and trust me it makes a difference with the alt

dont forget to charge the cap properly with a resistor or the cap may actually go 'BOOM'

This is false, but with the cheap crap they put in those caps I wouldn't be surprised. Attaching a fully drained cap will cause a short, and some sparks, but only for a second. This is normal. Just the same as putting a short across the cap; it will not hurt it, but will discharge it in a hurry (some good sparks)

The only way to destroy a cap is to run a higher voltage then what their rated for, or to reverse the polarity.

I wouldn't suggest shorting one of those cheap caps from china though. probably leak rather then explode.

I also suggest 'the big 3' over a cap/another one.
