Help wiring my subs...
I have 2 15" Kicker subs, 2ohm DVC. The installer screwed up the wiring thinking it was wired just like any other sub so after a while I finally got new ones and I'm going to wire them myself.
My amp is a 1000Watt Alpine, I'm probaly going to buy another amp of the same to run 1 sub of each in the near future, but at the moment they will both be ran off the 1 amp.
Heres the diagram for kicker subs http://www.kicker.com/dvc_wiring
It seems I have 2 options;
Parallel Voice coils with the Woofers wired in a series, and Series Voice Coils with Woofers wired Paralell
what setup is best, or will it not matter?

well, u have 3 options for wiring, .5 ohm, 2 ohm and 8 ohm(there are others, but these are the 3 for equal power)
im gonna assume ur amp will protect or blow up at .5, and make no power at 8 ohm...so your only real option is 2 ohm
but heres the 3 options anyways

Question wasn't what ohms to run them off, it was to ether run it in Parallel Voice coils with the Woofers wired in a series, and Series Voice Coils with Woofers wired Parallel., I'm not sure whats best? I don't understand the diagram you shown it doesn't tell which ones are the voice coils, if you look at the kicker diagrams Coil 1 is the white dot. http://www.kicker.com/dvc_wiring

well, the diagrams i posted are pretty simple to understand...the top of each woofer is one coil in my diagrams and the bottom is one coil.....where it says 2 ohm and theres a + and a -....thats one coil
as for which way to wire, if ur not doing any serious spl (wich you arnt based on what im reading) then you wont/shouldnt notice a diffrence
so just do it whatever way is easier for you to wire it...gl

The easiest way to ensure both drivers receive the same power is to series the coils and parallel the subs....option #2 in the drawings above......
