HELP!! oldsmobile cutlass supreme S
I took out the factory deck. picked out a coverter for the harness to the ioneer MP3/WMA CD Car Deck (DEH-1200MP) (link-> http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/pioneer-pioneer-mp3-wma-cd-car-deck-deh-1200mp-deh-1200mp/10137556.aspx?path=babeecb8e26fd7deaa6758e22686839 9en02 )
And the converter ddnt work at all and no power and i did ground it and the unit does work... so i cut the harness off of the factory deck/radio wiring.. and now they are just ends taped up.. and i need help... witch do i connect first to the pioneer deck and hook it all up... color codes for the wired?
the car is a 1993 Oldsmobile cutlass supreme S any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you below is color codes so far.. but what do they go to ?
Factory wiring
12 volt constant - ORANGE
12 volt acc - YELLOW
Ground - BLACK
Illumination - GRAY
Dimmer - BROWN
Power Antenna - PINK
Speakers...
Left Front + - TAN
Left Front - -GRAY
Right Front + - LIGHT GREEN
Right Front - - DARK GREEN
Left Rear + - BROWN
Left Rear - - YELLOW
Right Rear + - DARK BLUE
Right Rear - - LIGHT BLUE
put the above wires too.... the pioneer connections...

Why not buy a Scosche car stereo connector from Future Shop as well? It plugs into the factory harness and hooks up to the Pioneer deck. It gives the wire colour codes on the back of the package. Will make your life easier.

It doesn't matter which ones you hook up first as long as the deck is not plugged in at the time.
My own personal way of doing it is ground, constant, accessory, illumination, power antenna, then speakers. Once it's all done, I test it. If it's good, then I secure the wires into a nice neat line, plug in the antenna, rca's and tuck them away into a safe spot in the dash.
